The most important thing to know

Breezy Financial is not a lender. We are an independent loan-connecting service that helps connect consumers with lenders and lending partners that may be able to consider their request.

We do not determine:

  • Your interest rate
  • Your APR
  • Your loan amount
  • Your finance charges
  • Your repayment schedule
  • Your late-payment fees
  • Your renewal terms

The lender determines the actual cost and terms of your loan.

You are under no obligation to accept a loan offer.

What is APR?

APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate.

APR is a standardized way of expressing the cost of borrowing over an annual period.

For short-term loans, the APR can look very high because it is annualized, while the loan may be repaid over a much shorter period. That doesn't mean the cost should be ignored — always look at the actual finance charge and total amount you'll repay, not just the APR.

The important part: Don't look at APR alone. Review the actual finance charge and total amount you'll repay.

How much does a loan cost?

It depends on the lender and your specific loan.

The lender determines the loan amount, finance charge, interest rate, APR, fees, repayment schedule, late-payment fees and renewal terms.

Your exact costs will be disclosed by the lender before you accept a loan.

Understand the total cost before you accept

A simple illustration of how a finance charge or fee can change the total amount you repay.

Amount borrowed $200
Example finance charge / fees +$40
Example total repayment $240

The number that matters most

Look at the total amount you will repay, along with the APR, finance charge and payment schedule — not just the payment amount.

Illustrative example only. This is not a loan offer and does not represent the terms you will receive. Your lender or lending partner will provide the APR, finance charge, fees, repayment schedule and total amount you will repay before you accept an offer.

Late payments can cost more. If you accept a loan and don't repay it according to the terms of your loan agreement, your lender may charge additional fees or other charges, subject to the agreement and applicable law.

Depending on the lender, your circumstances and applicable law, late or non-payment may result in:

  • Additional fees or charges
  • Collection activity
  • Credit reporting
  • Other consequences described in your loan agreement

Breezy Financial does not determine or control these charges. Your lender's agreement will contain the specific policies that apply to your loan. If you think you may have difficulty making a payment, contact your lender as soon as possible.

Breezy Financial isn't your lender. Breezy Financial does not engage in debt collection activities relating to loans made by lenders.

Your lender's collection practices should be disclosed in your loan documents. If you have questions about a past-due balance, collection activity or payment arrangement, contact your lender directly.

Don't ignore it. If you believe you may not be able to repay your loan on time, contact your lender immediately. Your lender can explain what options, if any, may be available under your agreement.

Do not assume that a lender will automatically extend or renew your loan. Before accepting a short-term loan, make sure you understand how you'll repay it and what could happen if you're unable to do so.

Nothing is final until you see the loan agreement. If a lender is willing to consider your request, the lender will provide you with the applicable loan terms before you accept the loan. Your loan documents should identify applicable:

  • APR
  • Finance charge
  • Fees
  • Total repayment amount
  • Payment schedule
  • Late-payment provisions
  • Renewal provisions

You don't have to accept the offer. If you don't agree with the terms presented by a lender, you are under no obligation to accept the loan. Take the time to read the complete agreement and disclosures before accepting any offer.

Ask yourself: Can I afford to repay the full amount? When is my payment due? What happens if I'm late? Are there additional fees? Can the loan be renewed or rolled over? If you're unsure about any part of the loan agreement, ask the lender before accepting it.

Understand the renewal policy before you accept. Loan renewal, refinancing and rollover policies vary by lender and may also be governed by applicable state law.

If renewal is available, the lender should provide information about its renewal policy before you accept the loan. A renewal or rollover may result in additional fees, interest or other costs.

If you think you may have difficulty repaying your loan on time, consider your alternatives before accepting or renewing a short-term loan.

Look beyond the payment amount. If you're presented with a loan offer, consider:

  • APR — annualized cost of borrowing
  • Finance charge — dollar cost of the loan
  • Total repayment — total amount you'll repay
  • Loan term — how long you have to repay
  • Payment schedule — when payments are due
  • Late fees — potential additional costs
  • Renewal policy — whether/how the loan may be renewed

The lowest payment isn't necessarily the lowest-cost loan. Look at the total amount you'll repay and make sure you understand the complete agreement.

Breezy Financial does not make credit decisions. Breezy Financial does not make credit decisions or determine whether you qualify for a loan.

Depending on the lender, a lender or lending partner may perform a credit check or other eligibility assessment. The type of credit inquiry may vary by lender.

If you accept a loan and don't repay it according to the terms of your agreement, the lender may report payment activity to one or more credit reporting agencies where permitted by applicable law. Late or missed payments may negatively affect your credit.
